My early personal experiences of therapy as a University student, when life felt overwhelming, cemented my belief, that counselling really helps you to understand why things aren’t working out and what you can do differently. It gives you a whole new tool box to manage your life and feel empowered to do so.
Counselling literally helps you get the answers, for those unanswered questions.
I was always interested in people and initially trained as a Primary School teacher, inspiring young children to learn. This led to an interest in how the creative arts, including dance, art and drama, could therapeutically help people to get in touch with and explore their feelings and a training in Dramatherapy.
My passion for helping people continued and so I trained as a Counsellor in 1998. Since then I have worked in a number of adult and young people’s settings. This includes private health care, a secondary school where I set up and managed the entire service and where I still work as the lead Counsellor.
More recently I set up ‘Personal Counselling’, my own Private Practice in Stanmore, Middlesex, to provide an accessible service with quick, flexible appointments.
There are no waiting lists for a GP referral. There are no limited number of sessions. The consulting room is private and professional and designed to put you at ease. I have been told by clients, that it has a peaceful, calm feel to it. There is free parking and easy access by tube (Jubilee Line) or Bus (142).
